I am posting a picture of my son; because the joy he brings to me, reminds me daily why I need to keep fighting. I am so blessed to have him and my parents here while I’m going through treatments. I have had some rough days; yesterday was one of them. I was sick with a migraine headache and nausea. I received the daily Vit C and K IV infusion and IV Ozone. The doctor reviewed labs with me. I have low iron so I received iron IV. My white blood cells are a little elevated which is a good thing because that means my immune system is responding to the treatments. The rest of my bloodwork looks good. I received the Coley’s Therapy IV. Within 20 minutes, I had the chills and then my headache turned into a migraine after a few hours. I went to bed early and had ice packs on my head. I then had a fever. I took my nightly CBD dose to help me fall asleep and this morning I woke up feeling much better. The headache and fever was a good response to the Coley’s Therapy. Remember, the purpose of Coley’s Therapy is to elicit an immune response, without incurring the risks of an actual infection. The Coley’s Therapy coaxes the immune system to fight cancer by releasing a dendritic cell storm. A dendritic cell is a special type of immune cell that is found in tissues, such as the skin, and boosts immune responses by showing antigens on its surface to other cells of the immune system. Even though I haven’t been feeling the best this week, it is a good sign that the treatment is working! I have the weekend off from intense treatments, so I will be taking this time to rest, meditate, and enjoy some time with my family.
